Re: Portable AC unit leaking water

Thanks to all who posted. It has been steadily dripping water through the drain since I moved it and drained it. It didn't drip so steadily before and would sometimes gurgle. I shouldn't have to drain it under normal operation when using the top drain tube. I'm guessing there was a clog issue. It never drained this steady since I got a couple months ago. Works MUCH better now as well. It would give off heat at the back before, you didn't want to sit beside it. Now there is no heat, just the cool air.

It must had a small clog right from the get go... while looking up the topic I did find a few people who had some major leak issues out of the box, various brands.

At least now I know what to keep a eye on if this becomes a issue again.

Just as a comparison, it has been so humid around here my Dad's dehumidifier has been pulling 2.25 gallons of water from the air just in one night. That's a lot.

Re: Portable AC unit leaking water

I had something similar. A year ago, I bought a new air conditioner. Three months later, its work was disrupted. I thought it was buggy and decided not to turn it on for the week. A week later, I decided to turn on the air conditioner, but it didn't respond to the remote, to my surprise. I told my brother about this, and he advised me to return to air conditioning installation engineers. He just liked the work of these employees. I decided to take my brother's advice, and I am happy with the result. From all this history, I concluded that the repair is better not to delay. You need to solve the problem until it just appears immediately.
