I’ve always felt it was improper to give folks gifts (family or otherwise) that will make them do work.

If I buy a kitchen appliance, it is for the entire family. Depending on the appliance, I may actually use more than my wife does.

2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I'm just saying, I'm a tech and I don't drink, a bottle of whiskey would be of no value to me at all. If I could take my wife out to dinner and tell her it was a gift from the great salesman we have, that would be something of value.

Cordless screwdriver, maybe.
I have purchased both of those for myself over the years. Both have their use depending on what you are working on.
Olive Garden, Tahoe Joe's, Texas Roadhouse and other national restaurants have gift cards that can be ordered online.
