I have no problem with saving the environment as long as we do it sensibly, but rushing into a fully electric world is not the answer ( I don't know what the answer is either). How will trains, planes, and ships operate, are we to head back to steam and wind? What about semis, are we going to have semis pulled over every couple hundred miles recharging, boy those truckers will be loving there logs and paychecks then, not to mention we cant keep shelves stocked as it is. Fun scenario, the shipping cluster fuck finally gets figured out, workers are back on the lines making America great again, but products are now piling up in warehouses because the trucks can no longer keep up with demand. How much will a flight cost in this new future, or a cruise? Soon only the elite will be able to live life to its fullest, the rest of us will be left trying to figure out how to feed our families.

In both cases, there is plenty of time to recharge the truck batteries overnight. Much like they do now with long haul truck batteries.

For long haul drivers, diesel is here to stay for a long time even at record high diesel prices due to a global refinery shortage.

I didn't miss the point. That's the point. They can barely get a car past 300 miles without a charge. At this point the majority of charging stations still take an absurdly long time to charge, but they have a plan huh, and I'm the one missing something? I made legitimate points, you have no idea if I drive electric ,hybrid ,or a hummer, you just pounced. Slow down fella it's not a race to see who can hate each other first. If the copier industry could handle the transition, there is 1,000x more Federal and State $ available to train truck drivers.

No, I am waiting for when they come out with a battery that does not have the potential to spontaneously combust and is not made from a material that has to go to a hazardous waste disposal site after it has to be replaced. Also for when producing the electricity needed to charge it does not produce more pollution than an similar sized CNG or LPG powered vehicle does, hell or even a properly tuned gasoline powered vehicle.

Liquid gasoline is not flammable. It has to be vaporized first and that vapor has to be with in a specific range of concentration of fuel vapor to oxygen. You can throw a lit match into a bucket filled to the brim and it will put the match out. All those scenes you see on TV and in movies of fuel tanks exploding are faked. It very happens in real life and then only after the tank has been ruptured and the fuel has leaked out on the ground.

Lithium batteries on the other hand can spontaneous combust. In fact pure lithium will react instantly with water. In fact it is a common high school lab demonstration.

... all of the techs that I work with and that have hired in the last couple of years are cross trained on connectivity. Even my older techs from the analog copier days are expected to install print drivers, configure scan to email. If they need help, we Windows 10 Quick Assist in when they are at the customer location.

This has been the expectation for the last couple of years and you are under representing the capabilities of most copier technicians who work for independent dealers.
