Except "fossil fuels" are not finite. Dead plant matter is constantly being broken down releasing combustible matters. Many housing projects are now are no longer safe to live in due to the methane gas being produced. Also vegetable is be converted into bio diesel. Research is currently being done into developing similar fuels for gasoline engines.Fossil fuels are a finite resource, at some point we need to START to transition to renewable energy sources. Now, this is not going to happen overnight but, our reliance on coal and oil should slowly be phased out.
Why wouldn't we want to be a global leader in producing these products? The effects we are feeling form the pandemic and supply chain issues are directly tied to the fact that we do not manufacture shit in this country.
