    Pray for Florida

Hurricane Ian did a number on Flordia. I know firsthand what they're going thru and the long recovery ahead.

Hurricane Katrina made a direct hit on The Mississippi Gulf Coast and I remember it like it was yesterday. It looked like it was hit by a nuclear bomb. I remember seeing the look in the eyes of our residents. It's hard to explain.

    Here's to a speedy recovery.

@Billy: Did you see any of Ian's action, or was it too far away?
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

No, it's bright and sunny here. I always get nerveous around this time of year.

Here in Tampa, we dodge another 1. Got 60 mph winds, 2 inches rain and Power stayed on.

I was living in Fort Lauderdale when Andrew came through in 1992. I feel for all the people as it is horrifying.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it, maybe, probably not we are at the pub!

    Re: Pray for Florida

One thing that I had forgotten about is the looting after Katrina. Not so much here but it was widespread in New Orleans.

On a positive note: As soon as we were allowed back in, there was a lot of help. Keep in mind that there was no water, lights or gasoline, or phones of any type. It was hotter than hell. No air conditioning of course. But what there was is people helping people. There were food tents set up. Ice trucks were everyhwere. Free bottled water. Free clothes. Anything that you needed. It was all free. There were also curfews.

People from all over the world came. Especially church groups.

And then there were the hurricane chasers and many of them were ripping people off. Substandard construction on roofs and homes in general. There must be a special place in hell reserved for these folks.

The insurace companies were denying claims due to some loophole.

There were literally mountains of debris.
