Don't you just love a AF 2105. Heavy days.

I again vote Konica Minolta B1250. I have never work on a machine that would run for mare than 1.6M and the only thing to be replaced out of need was the web.

Machine runs up to 5.6M in peace. Replacing PM parts selectively.

Even Oce would eat this light looking/feeling machines dust.
    Whatever

Best copier ever made? The Kyocera Falcon range was good- you could detonate a ton of semtex in one of those and they'd still work. The best ever though has to be a toss up between the Ricoh FT6645 range ( the basic engine is still going 30 years later as the Martini) and the Phoenix range ( FT5135 etc.) So easy to work on from an engineering point of view and so reliable.

The Panasonic FP1300 was similar. Sliding flatten, clamshell, drive chains, A4R or B4 only, no zoom. 1 control PCB, 1 AC board & 1 DC board. And relays you could tap with a screwdriver to get them working. HEAVEN!

Don't think I ever posted in this thread.

I think the Minolta EP450Z was one of the best all-time, especially at the time it was still in the field. Of course compared to now, maybe not so much.

Re: Which was the BEST copier ever?

I will comment on lower speed copiers 25 per minute, Before Most Techs on this site never worked on.

Minolta EP 450z good in the day, 1985 I believe, exit roller bushing problem, Fuser bearings lockup, causing bushing in vacuum belts bushing to hallow out. Orange drum, Cadmium Sulfide (polish Drum). Last a long time, thick pc blade. Chain driven, replacing pwb-c due some chip problem like the EP410Z. Big light blue roller in upper feed tray accommodates letter/legal. Bottom tray 11x17 letter crosswise. Starter/developer lasts a longer time. Minolta made a lot of $ on contracts with this one , unlike the 550z/650z. Any info on Polishing Selenium with Brasso problems from polishing that Drum with anyone out there?
ADF with a switch problem I remember. Good copier in the day.

THE KING of copiers (25 per minute) goes to Canon ir3025, This one is what most Canon techs at least may have worked on.All updates done from the previous, ir 3570, I know this was 35per minute . then ir 3225,not a good model, Back to the king of 25 per minute MFP Fusers go 3 life time . OEM drum go 80k plus. Using letter portrait. Sure remove black pads for jamming, upgrade right side door. Run paper letter r in humidity conditions for 2 sided, One drawback Black & white scanner. LONG LIVE COPYTECHNET.

Smile Re: Which was the BEST copier ever?

    Don’t laugh,
But i have a Minolta EP 4000 on a rental in the same place for the about 16 or so years, My parts are down to 1 blade and charge wires and couple fans, and ufr gears, Volume now is less than 200 a month. So I have to add this model, over 1.1mil on it.
And still have 2 Canon ir 2200, still working, I have no parts but its on a charge bases. Easy to work on.Drum, feed roller, ufr sleeve.

Re: Which was the BEST copier ever?

Each new model that comes out is an improvement to the previous model the only real issues I have are caused by the user.

Paper trapped behind the tray is the most common call out seems to happen on all manufacturers
