As an active member of the American legion (which is comprised primarily of older people like yourself), I have several comrades that have had bypasses over the years, and every single one of them came through without a hitch. Just think how much energy and good feeling you are going to have after you get decent blood flow again. No fear necessary for this (probably easier said than done)

Yes, I know I have to make some major changes in my lifestyle. I quit smoking on Sunday morning. 45 years a smoker. I hear walking is the best thing for me and I guess I'll have to cut out bacon and all those foods that are bad for me as well. We're going to meet the surgeon on Thursday morning.
