the part has been modified, now the bottom has been cut off the hole, you can also do it on the old piece, by hand

had the same jamming problem with an MPC4501, checked the felt pads below the sensors and sure are they full of dust, blew the dust off them felt pads and that fixed it.

Thread is 6 nearly years old, resolved by the poster, and all you've done is repeat what was suggested long ago
