This thread is 3 years old, you might want to start a fresh one. 90% of the time a sc220 is caused by a failed polygon mirror motor ( inside the LD assembly).
NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING
A lot of the times you can see the components on the board that got fried and burnt copper traces too..
To me a lot the times you can see if earlier or latter models will fit..
at worse you waste time checking..
I havent saved my last mp6500/mp6001 trade ins as time was not there for it...Otherwise i would offer up some cheap
options..
Wow thanks for the speedy reply where is the best place to pickup parts? I am an ex Xerox tech I got this machine for Free So I am fixing it up and going to donate it some place who can use it
To be certain it's the motor I could go in the input out put and turn it on and I should hear it rather than strip the machine down that faar

on these models, the drum ground can cause this. pull out the pcu, stretch the ground spring, clean the internal frame area
