    Ricoh Model Name Guide

    Hi all,

Does anyone have a list of all the Ricoh model names, e.g MPC3003 is the Metis range.

I have tried googling the answer but cant find any reference to it.

Thank you for the great effort and the useful contribution

The problem I stuck at is what are the meanings of all these letters in the Ricoh model names
For instance , the multifunction SPC232SF
I can easily say the C is refer to colored
May any one has an idea of what all these letters mean?

Good question! I was asking the same question just the other day. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

SP as in Single Purpose, since it's a printer based mainframe. C is obviously for colour; the SF is for the additional Scan and Fax features available on that variant.

At least that's what I remember from working direct for Ricoh...

MP in the later series would be Multi-Purpose since they're built off a copier mainframe.
At most you would see SPF appending some models to note the Scan, Print, and Fax functions.

    What about the “IM” series?

Not sure. It's been years since I worked for Ricoh, so I'm sure there's a trainer somewhere who knows the logic of the new series, I just don't have access to them any longer.

Same here, but my guess would Intelligent Machine (or Model). Maybe Debs might know.

I can say that the “GW” in “GW” and “GW+” controllers stands for “Grand Works”.

No idea what it actually designated, though.
