    MPC 3003 SC 672-11

    Hi guys,

    Have a mpc 3003 with a sc 672-11.

Have replaced the ops panel, control board, nvram and hdd to no success, tried updating firmware but no luck. according to service manual these fixes should have cleared the fault but as of yet no luck.

does any one have any other options that i can take to get this machine up and running.

    cheers

Sometimes the HDD can be the cause

Check the USB cable to the operation panel.

Does this box have a fax? does it still happen if the FCU is removed?
If no fax the only thing left is the IPU. Check fuse FU5 on the IPU, its a tiny surface mount fuse.
At least 50% of IT is a solution looking for a problem.

Here is a tech bulletin on the possible causes: RD147144c.pdf

Going by what you have currently tried, it is most likely a faulty controller board.

    turn off the machine
    open front door
    take out all toner cartridge
    turn on
wait to machine ask for toner cartridge, if so sc 672 will not log
you have a bad toner chip (must be yellow)

    @amishee

Hi, I know this is way too late to answer this, but it is much better to share info that to let it slip away.
I have gad this code many times and it was always one of two things for me :
    1. If it is a new M/C installation, you will get a 672-11 code when the fax board jumper is still on "OFF"
    2. Also as "Slimslob" said, the USB cable between controller and operation panel.

    Hope it helps.

Big Fat Beautiful day to all.

do you know the part number for the harness? USB cord part number. I ordered 1 online but it does not transmit the data. So I used it from a parts machine. But, another machine did the same code and I don't have another parts machine to steal the part.

If you have a the USB cord part number I would really appreciate it.
