Re: MPC2503 Y toner hopper breaking due to compacted toner - Advice please

We have the same problem, please see the image :ad.jpg the machine keeps adding toner until the hopper is filled causing the spiral to break or get out.
The toner distribution is delayed from the develpment unit opening, blocking the toner from the hopper to drop freely. You need to clean the toner hopper and dev't unit.
remove the old toner replace it with a new stock.

Do they apply to the MPC2503 as well?

Re: MPC2503 Y toner hopper breaking due to compacted toner - Advice please

BIG BIG thanks to all who have helped and advised.

Luckly the customer only works a few days a week so i turned off the toner low feed in SP mode to get them running without toner being constantly loaded.

I have another new hopper to fit and will investigate the above advice.

    Many thanks again

    Dave
    xx

Looks like the info is not for my machine
This may not be for the MPC2503 as no knocking mech on the dev units.

This is generally what we've been seeing. It is important to clean the plastic vertical tube that sits between the dev unit and toner hopper. It's held on by 2 screws to the rear frame of the machine (above where a toner pump would be, on the old models).

If this piece isn't cleaned out, it dumps all of its toner into the new dev unit, and soon the hopper is clogged again.

The sub hopper was clean, I removed it and checked.

I recently installed a 2504ex this had a failed yellow dev unit after only about 10k.
Dev unit was replaced a few days later machine asks for yellow toner even tho bottle is full.
My last visit hopper looked fine.

Ahh yes looks like a similar issue.

what i did in total due to a few visits

    new Y pcdu
new hopper due to old one faulty
    cleaned the TD sensors
cleaned and checked the sub hopper
changed the toner bottle so it went to 100% full

Its strange how the toner issue goes down to nearly empty even with a nearly full bottle and the only way to get round it is to fit a new bottle, This I have done on a few machines.
