Is there a fix for the fuser making that annoying noise after it quits making copies . (Other than rebuilding the fuser) I thought they had a firmware update for it.
Thx Hoosierdaddy

i VE TAKEN some apart and re-lubed them and they are quiet but that is when i had free time
to actually not take a short cut.
The 3 1121 changing to 0 does the trick for the grinding noise.
This fusing unit was not Ricoh's proudest moment.
This unit was poorly designed, in that there is a cloth covered bar that sits inside the fusing sleeve, where it contacts the pressure roller.
When the cloth's lubrication dries up, the cloth binds to the inside of the sleeve, and deforms, causing a handbrake action against the sleeve = the foghorn noise that you hear when the sleeve turns.
Lithium grease helps sometimes, if you catch the cloth before it deforms, because once it has starts to tear off the backing frame, it is not worth the effort.
All the settings in the world will not help once the cloth starts tearing off the backing and making bulges between the sleeve and the sleeve support.
When that happens, it is time for a new fuser unit.
Press the GREEN button!!
Here's another way of getting rid of the noise:
Add the fusing oil supply rollers to the fusing unit. Part# D105 4385. These will look similar to the ones in the MPC2050/2550. Comes as one complete assy, you simply snap out a metal bracket in the existing fuser and snap in the replacement oil roller assy. Only one time has this ever failed me in getting rid of the growling noise immediately.
Only downside is, I believe the price of the oil roller assy is close to that of the fusing sleeve.
typical pay me now and pay me later...
