From what I remember, and from checking the Product Support Guide, the color toners for the MP C2550 can be used in the MP C2551 so I would assume the C2551 color toners will work in the C2550. The only problem would be that the C2550 toner bottles only have a yield of 5500 compared to 9500 for the C2551. The C2550 might not recognize the C2551 chips or the toner remaining would treat the C2551 bottles as if they only had had the same amount of tone as the C2550. The black cartridges are physically not compatible. I remember the first C2551 we got. They forgot to order toner with the machine. I tried C2550 toner and the color fit but we had to over night a black.

MPC2550 WILL FIT AND be read by RFID but you need to break a small tab off as i remember..
I think he was asking mpc2551 toner powder in a mpc2500...
