    MP2501 problems with w10

hi guys, I have problems with w10, the user says he can't print after probably an update of w10 (KB4524147) that I immediately did uninstall the update by phone, but nothing to do. For the scanner instead I think I do the firmware update on the MP. Monday I will go there. Some advice thanks

As far as printing goes, most likely the machine is using a WSD port instead of a TCP/IP port for printing. If you change it to the Standard TCP/IP port that will likely resolve the issue.

With the scanning issue, there is a tech pub on the TSRC page regarding SMB v2/v3. BULLETIN NUMBER: D158/D159/D160/D161/D170 – 008 REISSUE

These are your MINIMUM versions of firmware to enable SMBv2-v3

    ProductName -MP 2001 MP2501

    System/Copy -v1.15 D1585551S

    NetworkSupport -V12.48 D1585563L

    Scanner - v01.05 D1585558D

    Web Support - v1.07 D1585559H

    OpePanel (LCDC) - v1.06 D1580057E

Thanks for the replies, unfortunately I no longer have access credentials to the Ricoh portal since January 1st. The company I work for is no longer a retailer for 2 years and it will be more difficult to find firmware and technical bulletins.

I had this one today on a windows 8.1 OS. I asked the user to manually check windows update and he did. After 2 hrs, he called back and the problem was resolved.
    Aye! Cut the crap

Disable the WSD protocol via WIM. We are doing this to all units as we see them. You can configure the driver for an IP port only to have Win10 change it back to WSD. Too much automation in Win10!!

+1 on WSD ports... damn windows KNOWS that WSD ports suckshit but every update we deal with this crap... I wish the code writers had to deal with THEIR problems in the field.. it might cut some of this crap out!

that should be no problem here. MOST techs are happy to share tech pubs/bulletins.

    Re: MP2501 problems with w10

I solved it by inserting the ip port instead of wsd and the pcl6 mp2501 driver, it seemed like a big problem from what the user said on the phone, but when you get there you know the solution well
