Re: MPC3002 not connecting to network

Keithxxiii, I don't believe there are any Macs in this office. One day it worked the next it didn't from what they tell me.
I will check the print out.

Nice to know about the laptops. I have a customers with BHC7000's and he explained the set up enough for me to
know the hook ups. But I did not know about the laptops. He was his own IT tech.

Not a MACbook sir, but the media access control address of the device. Maybe the IT has done something on their network firewall that does not allow foreign devices not registered on their network.
Large companies with different IT divisions usually have this feature enabled.
    Aye! Cut the crap

    Keithxxiii,
This is not a large company. It is a tow truck company in an old building with rats. There are maybe 6 or 7 people that work there. But I will check to see if anyone is using
a Mac. Although on the config report there is a MAC address under the heading of "Interface information".
I will call and ask about the MAC.

Every network-computer based machine has a unique mac address.
That doesn't mean that it also has Post Script a board.
If it has Post Script a board, then it should be mentioned on the config page (driver)

Can you post a scan or photo of the config page printout

If it works, don't touch it.

Sounds like someone tried to setup IPv6. IPv6 has not been fully implemented and I have always left it turned off.

Agree with above. DR post if possible network config page, you should aim at IPv4 connectivity, maybe that's where things go wrong...

Re: MPC3002 not connecting to network

    My favorite pet peeve:

    ”Mac” is short for “Macintosh”.

”MAC” is an acronym for “Media Access Control”, which has been previously mentioned.

The two are NOT the same!

Don’t overlook the possibility that the MAC addresses need to be whitelisted. I have done that on my measly little $50 wireless router at home, just as another step to keep the riff-raff out. Every device in the house: A Ring doorbell, 2 Echo Dots, 2 PCs, 2 iPads, 2 cell phones, and an iPod are all happily registered. Anyone else can bite the big one.
