    MP 6503 sc 664-002

Hi, All. I have a MP 6503 that worked great in the shop, but when we delivered it and fired it up, it shows some Chinese characters and a sc664-02 which is a vodka error. Never even heard of it. Has anyone ran into this before?

You would have to ask a Ricoh design engineer, they named it. Com error between IOB, BICU, SRAM.

The following error is described: ASIC on the BCU SRAM program expansion error. Error writing to ASIC on BCU SRAM (write result error),
Electric noise. Hardware defect, replace the imaging BCU and the paper transport BCU. • Check the harness. something could have happened during the delivery, check the connections between electronic boards.

Ok, the machine is running OK and is at the customers office. In shop I pulled the fax and G3 unit off, reseated all connectors on the IOB, BCU, and controller. The sata connector for the HDD on the controller was loose, so I just hot glued it down after straightening the pins. I replaced the HDD. After I fired it up all was well, no Chinese characters or sp access issues, or sc 664 codes. I then installed the fax unit, and all the icons on the SOP display disappeared (not good). I removed the fax and they returned. Needless to say, the machine was delivered without the fax installed. Time will tell if it is going to work well. Thanks for the replies, and everyone have a great weekend!
