    MP 301spf digitized lines/shading

    MP 301 lines_0001 (2).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (3).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (4).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (5).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (6) (1).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (8).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (10).pdfMP 301 lines_0001 (11).pdfI have a MP 301spf making lines operator to non-operator and only when scanning, main glass or DF. All internal prints are fine.
Have swapped out the following parts: scanner assembly, scanner carriage, BICU, power supply, PCU, laser, power pack, fuser, controller, right door/duplex/transfer assembly, front/side switches.
Brought machine to shop and still doing it, so customer power not an issue. Happens inconsistently, can run several hundred no problem, then starts up again. Usually shows up running through DF first.
Problem moves when reducing and enlarging. More time and effort put in than is worth, but it's personal now. Samples attached.

you have a problem with the initial calibration of the white, so you need to check that the exposure plan - fi-slide - is well aligned and leveled. The ADF must rest well on the glass surface. Let us know.

is this machine in an enviroment where it could possibly suffer from condensation , years ago we use to have machine suffer from this and give black/dark copies/scans, good luck, we would appreciate feedback if successful, happy hunting.

You might try another pdcu in the machine. I see some charge roller lines, and white drum wear lines across solid areas. The B039 series suffered from similar issues when the type 1027 pcu was failing, and it would show up only on images from copying, not from internal prints. You might also want to clear print and copy applications to zero the processing data. Also adjust the adf for skew.

I have tried 3 different PCUs, 2 separate scanner units ( the whole frame/shell ). I have ordered the ribbon cable and harnesses for scanner. Will update when replaced.

    Thanks for the input.

The machine is now in our shop and still having the same issues. Still waiting for harnesses, then we'll see.

Update: I replaced the scanner ribbon cable and harnesses to no avail. Not sure what the fix is but already have too much time and money into it.
