Ricoh sp6430 with Fuser error. Service manual says contact your supervisor

    And bad internet.

I'm on a call and the manual won't tell me how to get into service mode, and this box only has a few buttons, no numbers so the normal way can't work.

    Help, Jim.

    PS, happy Friday the 13th

The older service manuals used to have it in them. Why Ricoh removed it??? Method for getting into service mode depends on whether the machine is On or Off.

    Method 1:
    1. Turn the machine on while pressing the “Online” key and “Escape” key together for five
    seconds or more.
    2. "[SP mode (Service)]” shows on the display.

    Method 2:
    1. Press the “Up/Down arrow” keys together for about 5 seconds or more, and then press
    the “OK” key.
    2. "[SP mode (Service)]” shows on the display.

Re: Ricoh sp6430 with Fuser error. Service manual says contact your supervisor

    thanks slimslob.

i had a customer call the other day and ask about the fuser maintenance kit, and his SC 541-00 code.
i gave him a competitive price and he said he'd order it.

then he called when i didn't expect it and went there to do the replacement unprepared.

then realized that i didn't have the reset.

i downloaded the service manual, and inside it tells me to ask my supervisor, as only authorized people should enter the mode.
but told me how to turn off the service mode lock, and then to call him. him who??

anyway, i tried all the combinations, and there isn't an actual "online" button. i should have taken a picture.

but, i will go back Monday and retry your suggestion for the second option.

i hope you have a great weekend, and thank you very much, Jim

Hi guys, hope you had a great weekend.

i see that the other service manual for a SP 6330 describes how to enter SP mode and clear the fuser error.

I hope it works on this one as the SP 6430 book doesn't.

    i will post a followup.

    have a nice day, Jim

Re: Ricoh sp6430 with Fuser error. Service manual says contact your supervisor

I went back and the two service mode options, the one to turn off and hold down the ,( well, it didn't have an online key), but i used the return and ok, which didn't work. holding the up and down arrows didn't work until after i had rebooted the machine. then when it was on, i then re tried the up and down arrows and it went right into service mode entry screen.

but the dip switch numbers for the SP 6330 didn't work.

then i found that there was a ? "reset printer" tab in the Ricoh web console.

so, that rebooted and cleared the error code.

but after it was cleared, i wanted to retrace my steps for education, and the "reset or? clear printer" tab wasn't there now.
damn things. always keeping us stressing.

so, thankfully its all back online and printing.

thank you all so much for the help and assistance. I really appreciate it.

have a very nice day, JIm

    Darn.
You probably had the info I needed to.

    Thanks anyway.
I figured I was getting needed punishment for asking this question, so I didn't want to make it worse.

I miss the old days of either having the correct book for a call, or all the years I had up to date Intravia manuals, that while at times very abbreviated, were I life saver on a daily basis.

    Thanks guys.
