Ricoh Mp C3002 duplex smears copy on 11X17 paper only

ledger size or 11X17 paper staples paper single side it prints fine only when duplex it smears. work fine on letter or legal size paper. i try another fuser has same problem. Any suggestion would be helpful. thanks in advance. I do see there are pressure and heat adjustments in service mode but would think it would do same on all the different sizes

My problems with smearing have always been fuser related, you are using OEM fuser and toner ?

Then paper weight, try setting ( on driver) to a heavier type. You are using the correct driver ? do not use a universal or WSD driver

yes on oem that is only thing we use on color copiers. We try thick 1 but had same problem.

ITS probably the fuser film.or pressure roller.
Did you ck the meter on the fuser unit?
Do you have a spare to swap to see if it is that..
I keep one mpc3002 and one mpc3003 on hand all the time..

srry i glanced the post.
I would do a single copy and refeed it thru the bypass tray.
If it still smears I would still think fuser,did you try heavier paper settings too?

never saw examples of defect
life on PM parts?
weight of paper?
coated? rough?
any errors in log?
cleaned the machine?

Zax could have hit something.. but what about 2nd side 'buckle'?

is the smear at top or bottom?

also I would make sure there is no loose toner in duplex path.. vac/wipe out no canned air.

Just thought, the smear (only on 11x17) may be caused by a feed clutch, in the duplex feed sticking or over driving which could cause a buckle / smear.

It's the fuser motor. There was a mod about it.
