    thanks
I had to get this machine in to swap out a mpc305 wth asking for toner issues which i will not waste time
    nor money on..
I split the old drum and split a brand new 1013 drum.
I thought of trying to swap out TD sensor but cant chance it on this account.
The 1013 drum, top half, charge roller and drum blade unit fit perfectly and copies are clean and no lines..
I just finished it now,new UFR,fingers and drum.
Just glad to knock off one headache to not think about in 2020/

you are correct, top half fits whole no need to gut the single parts

Also I am led to believe the type 1515 developer is type 28..
that is the same for the 1027,2027 and the 1013 series...
I think it would of worked with just ungluing/un taping the TD sensor and swapping them..might even be the
famous wires changed like other units..
I dont deal with these toys much so I WILL pass it along..

Re: CAN A type 1013 drum unit be converted to later models?

According to what I know (these are individual parts and not the complete PCU) :

    1013 drum should work in 1515, 161, 171, 201, 301(generic works whenever I use it)

Brand new Type 28 developer (from the silver bag it comes in) will work in all of these units (1013,1515,161,171,201) I always use original developer. Use 155grams. Too many problems with generic

TD sensor tends to differ from different models so be careful with those. Do not put a 1013 sensor into a 1515

Cleaning blades are the same for 1013,1515,161,171,201

Developer gears are the same for 1013,1515,161,171,201

Other parts can differ so be careful with those

Rebuilt many 1013 and 1515 PCU's back in the day, top halves are identical and all parts are interchangeable. Used half a Dev28 per PCU. Swapping TD sensor does work. Often did it in the field when gears failed and didn't have the correct one in boot stock. Quicker and cleaner than rebuilding the Dev case on site.

From what i remember you can use the type 6110d mp 6001 toner in the mp1013 cartridge too.
