MP4054 developer initialization when replacing entire PCDU?

Is the initialization procedure different when replacing the entire PCDU then when just doing a developer change?

    thanks

No, simply fit the PCDU initialisation is automatic.

Do you have the service manual?

FYI, it's a lot cheaper to rebuild the PCDU than replace the complete unit.

I usually just replace the drum, blade, charge & cleaning rollers.

Dev usually goes way past PM life.

yes I figured that but I didn’t want to rebuild my first one in the customers office, so I kept their old one which I will rebuild back at the shop and then I will have a good spare.

We generally always rebuild these! But yeah, just stick that thing in and it should initialize on it’s own. If you don’t think it took, you can check if the counters reset, or you can run developer initialization again, won’t hurt anything.

We usually Replace Drum/ blade/ developer (ALWAYS at the 150k interval)/ and developer seal set (don’t forget this!) Way cheaper!
Always have just cleaned the charge roller.
We have had to replace the PCU frame on a couple because the little plastic “stay” for the cleaning blade is prone to breakage.
Again Remember the developer seal kit D2023028!

After you atart rebuilding the unit for exchange, Go into the end of the 3000 sp settings to manual new unit set and set all the appropriate items that have been replaced to a 1 before turning machine off and replacing unit. It will reset the counts and run the processes needed.
