MP7503 Jam Code 125 and SC720-42
Hi Guys
I have a MP7503 that comes up with the above mentioned errors.
Jam Code 125 refers to Booklet Stapler Movement Motor Jam<
After a few time the machine will go into SC720-42
Corner stapler movement motor error (3K/2K Finisher)
The stapler did not return to its home position within the prescribed number of
pulses, or did not leave the home position within the prescribed number of
pulses. The first occurrence issues a jam alert, the second issues this SC code.
• Motor overload.
• Motor harness, connector is loose, broken, or defective.
• Stapler HP sensor harness, connector is loose, broken, or defective.
• HP sensor defective
• Motor, motor drive board defective.
• Inspect the area around the motor for obstacles that could interfere with
operation of the motor.
• Inspect motor harness, connector and replace if damaged.
• Inspect stapler HP sensor harness, connector and replace if damaged.
• Replace corner stapler HP sensor.
• Replace corner stapler movement motor.
• Replace Finisher main board.<br><br>Motor function is intermittent. The one moment it will go out of HP and then after a few open and close doors it will stop. Moving it to the back of the finisher will in some cases see it come forward to HP, other cases just move a bit and then stop. And then sometimes nothing at all. I have replaced the motor and also tried running without any load with the same results.
Any ideas???

First thing I would do is make sure the stapler isn't bound up. After that...follow the list.

Anytime you get both a Jam code and a service call code on a finisher, trouble the service code first. Normally the jam is created by the condition causing the service code.

I suggest you clean and lubricate the steel axes where the stapler slides. Don't leave that of the joggers behind. Scrutinize the movement with the door open.

Re: MP7503 Jam Code 125 and SC720-42
I have removed the motor that moves the staple unit completely, so it has not load on. Still moves erratic. If i move the staple unit out of home position the motor should turn to get it back in HP. Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not.

Re: MP7503 Jam Code 125 and SC720-42
I would check the wire harness for any wires that are nicked. I had one machine that would do the staple job, and then throw an SC code. I replaced everything the manual suggested. It ended up being a wire that has some of the coating cut and it was grounding out. I wrapped it with tape and works perfect.

Morning,
Did you get anywhere with this? Got a 9003 with an SR4120 doing exactly the same thing.
