    Pro8110 SC401-01, 402-51 and 410-01

    Good morning, peeps.

I've been around a Pro8110 for a few days that randomly throws out the codes mentioned above - SC401-01, SC402-51 and SC410-01.

The developer was recently changed (now at about 123k prints) and I've followed the instructions on the RTBs related to these codes (SP modifications, doctor blade and mag roller cleaning).

The temperature/humidity around the machine is right now is 16ºC (60.8ºF) / 50% outside of the equipment (inside the same temp but 45% humidity).

The machine total counter is 809k.

I'm all out of ideas. I was thinking about what to replace next, but being that the machine is still below 1M copies, I'm not sure what...

    Any tips?

    Thanks.

The drum has around 1.6m pages (around double of the machine TC, since most of it is A3/DLT or above) - since the drum is rated to 2.5M, I didn't consider it.

The only sensors I know around the drum are the potential sensor and he temperature/humidity sensor - Unless you're refering to the quenching lamp?

After draining the old developer and before installing the new developer did you clean the surface of the development roller IAW bulletin D179/D180/D181 – 038 REISSUE? The cleaning tapes needed are packaged with the developer D1809640. If you used the old developer part number D1799640 or after market developer you must order the cleaning tapes separately D1793414.

SC401 can also be caused by NOx (nitrogen oxides) build up when the machine set overnight. See bulletin D179/D180/D181 – 011 REISSUE for details and solution.

Try this, it came from tech bulletin D179/D180/D181 – 061

    SP 3201-002: [TnrDensity] Lower TC 4.5 to 3.0 [wt%]

    SP 3231-001: [Vtref Limits :Set] Upper:K 3.22 to 3.62 [V]

    SP 3622-061: [Dev Pot :Set] LowerLimit:K 200 to 100 [-V]

No, there were no cleaning tapes with the developer I replaced - I found out that bulleting after replacing the developer (when the problem came up). I then took a good look at the mag rollers and cleaned them the old fashioned way - and didn't notice much difference. Granted that could be because the cleaning method wasn't ideal, but the rollers looked good to me, specially when compared to other machines in the field that don't show these symptoms.
To be honest, I didn't even think about it again until I read your post - I'll order the tapes and, if the symptoms come up again (after today's machine cleaning), then I'll put them to good use.

I'm at home right now, but I'm almost sure those SPs were amongst the ones I changed - the last one I'm sure of it, at least. I'll double check when I get back at a future call.

No, at least not by me - it's possible that a colleague did replace them. But that's a good point to check that haven't ocurred to me.

Thank you all again for your suggestions. I'll keep you posted!

    Cheers!

If you order the D1809640 Developer, the tape comes with the Developer. I have used the tape 3 or 4 times, to be honest I have never seen the tape make any difference. I don't even bother with it any more.

I'd stretch the limits of SP3231-001 and SP3622-061 a little more than the tech pub.

I didn't see if you cleaned the doctor blade or not, but even if you did, I'd clean it again.

I'm sorry to revive this old thread of mine, but it came up on another thread and just today I noticed I failed to give a follow up.

It's been almost 6 months, so I'm not exactly sure of what the SPs were, but according to the worksheet, I raised the machine's tolerance for the given errors - So I probably followed anothertech's advise. The problem didn't come back ever since.

    Thank you all!
