    SPC360DNW WiFi

Hey, All. I hope your Friday is going well. I have a spc360dnw (M0B0, standard LCD, not SOP) that I am trying to connect wirelessly. According to the PSG, it supports wifi direct. That, to me, means I should be able to push the wireless connect button on the router and the machine should connect automatically. Is that right? The manual contains pretty much zilch about setting this machine up to print wirelessly. I have located ZERO documentation on how to do this step by step. I also saw in the machine menu the option to turn on 802.11. Is that something different than wifi direct? A procedure for this would be most helpful. I cant believe such a little printer is kicking my ass on this. Has anyone else ran in to issues like this on this model?

I think the Wifi Direct is for the Android Smart Panel.

EDIT: after looking at the PSG it says "Wifi Standard" and "Wireless Direct Standard". So I would say that wireless direct is not what you want. Make sure the 802.11 is active, and I know sometimes (at least with brother) I've had issues with needing it set to 2.4 ghz and not 5 ghz.

Ok, I got one of the two printers to print wirelessly on our network. Now I just have to remember everything I did to get it to work.

Give me about 10 minutes to play around. Literally just unboxed one that is going out on Monday.

Direct Connect is for printing from phone or tablet directly to printer.

As I remember, Ricoh WiFi Direct is a short range WiFi with DHCP on the SOP that allows nearby WiFi devices to receive connection information for the customers wireless network. Works with the various Ricoh apps for iPhone and Android.

802.11 works with Ricoh's ultra expensive wireless interface adapter. When turned it disables the wired jack for normal operation. Also required for certain high level network authentication such as Kerberos.

There are numerous wireless AP extenders that have one wired jack that can be used to connect a wired device to a wireless network. Some are under $50.

Okay, so mine came with the Smart Panel. But when I go into user tools --> system settings --> interface settings --> I then get "Network", Wireless LAN, and Direct Connection. I go into Wireless LAN and their is a Wireless LAN "easy setup". Do you see anything like that on your LCD?
