    CANT CLEAR J001 on a mpc401sr

    hi
i was at an account yesterday showing j001 and the screen showing me the paper would be in the duplex area.
I pulled the duplex bottom sensor wth the ground strap and cleaned the one near the transfer roller and all the
others exposed, registration, lower feed sensors and still shows a j001..
7507 plotter history shows one/last jam241 and the other nine 003 jams..
nothing in sorter and cking 5803 007 to 017 all read ok with 010 being all zeros which
i was hoping showed bad sensor but that is the default no paper reading..
I ve seen reference to interlock/door switch but as i remember the screen reacted to the right and front doors
    upon open/close..
If an interlock are we talking the main door switch or those little micro switches.........

J001 is a jam found at power or door closed. It is not stored in the Plotter Jam History. If you check the Plotter Jam History SP 7507, the most recent jam will be the where to check for a scrap of paper, bad sensor or sensor actuator being out of position.

i had them turn the sorter jam know and nothing came out and the panel seemed to tell me the jam was in the duplex area......
Now i dont know if it is a bad sensor but would assume if it was a jam in sorter it would show as a sorter jam............

I don't know about the MP C401 but on larger models with the internal finisher they reverse the operation of the duplex gate. What was the path to the duplex inverter became the path to the finisher. Where the problem came in was when the inverter sensor failed.

    thanks
i dont think the sorter path is used on the mpc401/mpc401sr series.
it is the same design as the mpc300/mpc400 where it is all located on the right side door unit..
I pulled apart a mpc400 front door switch, small micro switch and door door photo sensor along with all the
    sensors for the duplex unit..
I had tested the reg sensor with paper blocking and it changed from 1 to 0.
    I will find out tommrw

TURNED out to be a small torn piece of paper in the sorter after i pulled sorter out.......
very odd that it pointed it to be at the duplex section...............
At least I didnt have to swap out switches.......

Duplex door may have been the last door closed after the initial jam.
