Hmm interesting.... I'm about to be getting into the '04 series and was hoping to buy '03 for the guts to replace.

Good to know... Now is the actual developer powder different? I've come across some generic toner that says you can use in both 03 and 04... So was curious if the toner ingredients are the same wouldn't the developer also be?

Given the issues I have seen at times with 03 series devo units, I would not be putting those into a newer machine and instead want the newer version of the devo units. PCU's are fine as others have mentioned.

    Just my two cents.

I found that it makes a significant price difference in the 30/35 ppm models. I'm not sure if the PCU's are exchangeable between the 04 and 03 series for those models.

does the developer unit mount inside?
TRicky rico likes to swap wires and sometimes muck with the td sensor under the dev unit...
I feel like "MONK" sometimes when i have to use a printer part on a copier unit..
Recently had a mpc2551 that would not accept a mpc2550 PCDU....
    TD sensor was the difference
