    Wireless printing (im series)

Can you guide me on how to configure wireless printing/scanning using the WIFI features of the machine?(SCREEN FEATURES--WIFI--ON). For example, the client has wireless router which is 15 meters away from the printer. I know the basic procedure of scan to folder configuration. How can I make the IP address static if the printer is connected wirelessly.

The panel Wi-Fi does not replace the normal Wi-Fi option for the controller. It is mostly just a data connection for the SOP to use so as far as I'm aware you will not get full functionality via that connection. I have heard printing can work but that is all unless someone else with more knowledge can correct me.

That's probably not going to work, especially for scanning, and maybe not for printing either. I have a spc360dnw printer I used as a test for the built in " "LightOn" WIFI. It worked for printing, but it was only 8 feet from the router and the printer signal strength was only at 72%. At 15 meters it may not work at all. Forget the weak internal WIFI and just buy a WIFI extender for $50. They work great. I believe the built in WIFI is for people to walk up to the machine and connect with WIFI direct without having to contact the IT guy to manually add your device (phone or tablet) to the network.

If you wish to print to, scan from and whatever other functions are available to mobile devices, download the current Ricoh Ap and go for it. If you want to access it by your local WiFi network, do what Mika suggests.

If the printer and the laptop can connect to the access point, how can I know the acquired IP address of the printer? I checked every setting but I cannot find the acquired IP of the printer.

I retired before the IM series but it used to be in User Tools - System Settings - Interface. Then click Print Interface Settings.

Have you selected DirectConnect (group mode if I recall) on the interface tab in user tools to select the panel Wi-Fi connection?

You can find the IP or specify DHCP/static with the below setting

panel settings > wifi > select network > select show advanced options
