Make sure that "Service Mode Lock" isn't enabled in Administrator Tools.
If you have a "login" button at the top-right of screen when you press "User Tools/ Counter", then try logging in using "admin" for username, and leaving password blank.
User tools --> System Settings --> Administrator Tools --> Scroll down until you find Service mode lock.
EDIT: You Must be logged in as admin for "Service Mode Lock" to even be displayed in "admin tools".
User tools --> System Settings --> Administrator Tools --> Administrator Authentication Management --> Select Machine Management and Turn ON authentication --> Highlight "Maintenance" and "Administrator tools" --> hit OK. Now when you exit out of those windows, once you get back to the first "User tools" screen a "Login" button should appear next to "Exit".

Also check to make sure printer is not in stored jobs list screen

Try ‘C’ instead of red.
i went to user tools, Login button was already there. I logged in and then hit system settings, weird thing, only one tab appears with administrator tools and only system lock mode as an option nothing else at all. well it was ON, i turned it off but nothing. it does the same thing exactly.
You would have saved a couple of days had you mentioned the SC582 as your problem in the first place. Most likely either the IH coil is open or the IH thermostat is popped. You can check continuity for both by disconnecting them from the IH inverter board. If either check open, replace the IH coil assembly. If both check good, replace the IH inverter.
