Hi there!
The correct No. is D2415579W. Download it, unzip it and the last folder named SDK is stored on an empty (! use the new sd-formater from RICOH)
SD-card (max 4GB). MFP out, insert in slot 2, fire up the engine and wait. After 3-5 min you get a message with the ending "succeslull". MFP out, remove card, that´s all.

Were did you get that edc.ifu file?

I think you are correct in saying that you need Remote Install Manager to use that file to update java remotely.

I think you can only update java from sd card not remotely I've looked on my ricoh and under java firmware there only manual download available in the uk. Unless it's done with @remote but not sure if you can I will look into this

It can be done with Remote Install Manager on some machines, I am not sure about this machine, but I'm assuming it can be because the original poster here has the D2415579W_edc.ifu file. That is the type file that Remote Install Manager uses.

I found the Remote Install Manager at the Ricoh http://rfg-esource.ricoh-usa.com/ site.

I don't want to be misleading, I have never done the java remote update myself, but I have had tech support here in the US do it while I waited onsite, just not on this model.

I think the point here is that they did it while you were at the machine to make sure that nothing went wrong at the machine.

Yes, I had replaced the hard drive and they were going to reload Streamline remotely, but first they wanted to update the firmware and java, which they did remotely. I took quite a long time for everything to load.
