Switch the machine off for around 30-60 mins then turn back on the can overheat. (that's my theory)

    Re: mp6001 SC142 urgent

Home position error is sometimes caused by too long screws on slit glass cover. I've been home too long and can't remember what the cover looks like on those or if this is a possible fix so apologies if I'm talking irrelevant nonsense lol

When this would be the case, than that would be noticeable when moving the scanner manualy.
Do you notice some friction or blocking when moving the scanner from right to left?

There's a lot of old threads relating to MP6000-1 series DF.

In any web browser type "search site:copytechnet.com MP6001 DF" no quotes.

I would at least pull the radf and shake all the staples, paper clips out and the reseat all brd connectors and blow unit out with air.
It might or might not work but at least you took that out of the equation.

    Re: mp6001 SC142 urgent

Unless you are also getting SC121 it has nothing to do with the home position sensor.

Most likely the exposure lamp it self or the lamp regulator board/scanner IO board.
