Run individual colors one at a time to see if it's one of the drums.

    i agree with you.
make sure individual colors is turned on and do partial 2 inch sky shots with paper blocking lead and trail edge.

We bought this machine via a auction company.
I think there was some cheating on this machine, because i never have seen such a dirty and worn out cl unit!
Also - and Probabely - they have tried to clean the pcu, because there was a "zone" - every 5" - on the printouts where the image was smeared.
We never test those machines before bying it, because the test-day is at a different time, and since this company is miles away from where we life, we see it as a "gamble". Mostely we are lucky .

    Re: mpc2800 5" lines

here in ny the auctions are mostly shady..
I only buy lease returns and once in a blue moon will get a bad machine.
I had one that must have had chemical around it as the metals were pitted and grainy.
I just gut it and save what is good..
It is time vs real cost..
And i can always get another..
    where are you located?
