Those $#%@#% foam rollers on ricoh finishers.

Has anyone ever found a rubber roller that fits the hub of the foam gathering rollers? They wear down much too quickly.

Yes. I have used the rubber from Katun feed/pickup roller kits cut thin and then superglued onto the foam roller hub. They have to be thin or the friction from rubbing on the metal plate below it will stall out the motor that drives the foam rollers. I have done this a couple of times when I was in a pinch, and they lasted until I could install the OEM again.. It did not work as well as the foam, but good enough to mention it. Thin as in 3mm or so.

They are easy to replace, just check them on the 600K pm.

Same here. I carry a 6 pack and just replace when the finisher starts knocking...

I guess my frustration is every other finisher has a different style hub. It wouldn't be so bad if they all used the same. Plus it always seems that I lose the white keeper while changing. Boss doesn't like me to carry all of the various styles. What I was hoping for is something universal. Oh well, the search continues. If I ever do find anything, I'll post back.

Those nylon clips are a major pain. You either lose them or they break.

just carry a bunch of clips and spares..it is not like they weigh much..
I myself like the ricoh sorters outside of having to reform the entrance guide when i pick up
lease returns..I get good yield out of the foam rollers..i also set normal copies to come out of the top tray NOT the shift tray

That is usually the result of a customer employee using them as a lift point when they moved them out to the shipping dock.

We bought 30 cinese rollers from alibaba, just for test... They are harder then the original rollers, and much cheaper... Till now no problems..
