    Thank you for confirming that. This is the kind of luck I am having with this repair.

    By the way, I did try the NVRAM upload but it said "Failed". I assumed that was because the BICU Board has gone bad.

    Forgetting the counters for a while, did you try to enter the serial number in SP/SSP/FactorySP modes?

    Actually, and this will be my last on this, the replacement board is from a MP 171 that may have a mechanical counter. It is the exact same board number and appearance, but it must be different in the chip programming. That is why I am geting the SC901. Plus I don't know how to program in the serial number. And even if so I have lost confidence that there is not some other issue that caused the BICU problem in the first place.

    So I am not going to be able to resolve this and am going to part out the machine.

    I appreciate and thank everyone for their help.
