    Mpc 4503 with finisher SR3140

    Hi

I have MPC 4503 series with SR 3140 that do not stack evenly.
Large sets are printed and finished with a staple, it happens quite often that the paper is fed out of line, it sticks out for an inch and so its not stapled.
even swopped the complete finisher 2 times !!
The firmware of machine and finisher is up to date.
Did many adjustments, SP6143, SP6150 and SP6152 etc but problem not solved.

See the attachment. If you see the jogger not work correct.

    Any suggestions??

    Hey buddy,

    Order:
    2 x Reverse Rollers &
    1 x Gathering Roller

(whilst replacing the rollers - don't forget to clean the sensors)

    All the best

Considering the age of a MP C4503, the specified rollers on all his finishers need replacement. Or if the other 2 have been setting in storage they might get by with a thorough cleaning but the rollers will need replacing eventually. Maybe by replacing everything with a newer equipment from a competitor.

Does not mean anything other than you are either too lazy, too cheap or both to order new parts. Gathering into the stapler is dependent on the finisher only.

Since the first and second finisher work perfect on another 4503, it has to be the 4503 with the complaint that is the issue. I had similar once. It turned out to be environmental. The machine with the issue was in a damper area. We put in tray anticondensation heaters and the problem went away. I think the finishers are not the star performers of Ricohland. We also had similar, brought in another paper brand, no problems. As was mentioned replacing those stupid rollers helps in a lot of cases. Try some different paper to see if it helps. Take some humidity readings in the area.

Ok. I hear you. Let's take it right back to basics! Try again with a fresh ream of paper, but this time - clean all paper paths sensors and try it from the bypass tray. Someone mentioned checking the paper guides too - that's a good call.

Oh, also check the sensor at the lip of the finisher - just in case! (But you said you tried another Finisher! Agghh!!) Lol

Ok ok.....let's go with the print media and sensors! Lol
