Default lock print only - SP5710dn

A quick question if I may

Has anybody ever played with Printer driver packager nx?

I have a customer who wants one print option available to the user = Lock Print.
they only use the Ricoh universal driver 4.19 as its compatable with what they do

    Can this be done?

Any advice would be greatly welcome

    Thanks in advance

I used to use the Printer Driver Editor (antecessor of the Printer Driver Packager) and it worked nicely. If you can't get it to work with that, I can give it a go if you want (assuming the driver is compatible with this older software)

I could not find v4.19 but using the current version of 4.28 I was able to create a lock print only driver. I did not see the 5710 in the list so I used the 3710.

No longer available from Ricoh. You can get it fro Softpedia. Much smaller download than Printer driver packager nx and a hell of a lot easier to use. You do have to work with the extracted driver files before installing them.

    UPDATE

still playing around with the driver software, Printer Driver Editor & Printer Driver Packager NX

I still cannot work out away or creating a printer driver that only has LOCK PRINT as an option

Customer wants the user to only use LOCK PRINT the users are lazy and are selecting normal print due to the sensitive nature of the documents LOCK PRINT should only be used

    is this possible?

below is a link to the Universal Driver that they are using
Can somebody see if its possible and if so guide me

    Driver link below

Im starting to think this is not possible

    Thanks in advance

Re: Default lock print only - SP5710dn

The way I understand the intended purpose of "universal" print drivers, locked print would not be supported. The original purpose of universal print drivers was allow printer pooling of multiple printers of different makes and models.
