MPC 4503 adding toner issues

Are you seeing issues with the toner supply system on these machines?
I have to go ck out one where they say the machine is out of toner and the cartridge still has toner in it..
Dont know more than that..Have not really pulled the toner feed on these but did so on a mpc2503 i gutted..
are they the same?

They are the same.
We've had mangled toner hoppers on ALL models in the Cxx03 series.
Not too bad to get to and replace.
Have also had some backed up dev. units that have caused an add toner condition.

IF THE DRUM/DEV UNIT TURNS FREELY THEN I ASSUME THE TONER HOPPER IN THE REAR NEEDS TO BE PULLED OUT?
Do you just vacuum it and reform or it is beyond repair?
the mpc2503 and mpc4503 toner hopper are a bit different part numbers..dont know if they are any different

If it's turning freely and not making a clicking/grinding/moaning noise then I doubt the dev. unit is the issue.
If it's indeed the toner hopper then there is no "salvaging it", the toner transport coil breaks off of it's mount and requires replacement.
Hoppers are the same between all models in the Cxx03 series (C2003 - C5503).
Newest numbers for the hoppers are:
D0BQ3240 - Black
D0BQ3270 - Cyan
D0BQ3280 - Magenta
D0BQ3310 - Yellow

getting parts not in stock with covid is a PITA.........local dealer has given me crazy timelines..
I have a mpc2503 i gutted that worked perfect and a good meter.
I will take the toner hoppers with me.

Common fault in the uk hoppers are about £80 each if you really wanted cheap you can get a set of augers from China {beware} for about £25 a set I do know engineers that use them

I have yet to have any go..
