    Windows update

Just a FYI, I lost some data on the last Microsoft Win 10 update (thankfully I had a backup), and I just noticed that ALL of the printers in the office had been changed from a standard IP port to a WSD port. I noticed it because I could not access finisher functions on one of them. Thanks to Microsoft, at least 3 hours over the last 10 days have been dedicated to fixing things they fu&!ed up. That pisses me off. Rant over.

Go in to WIM and turn off WSD, it's listed under Security. Then Windows won't change it to WSD anymore.

I do this on install now, every time. WSD is terrible.

    This is incorrect.
Disable WSD on every single one of my machines is one of the FIRST things I do, and Connector App works fine

I'm glad on our KonicaMinoltas WSD Print and Scan are disabled by default

    Re: Windows update

On a Toshiba copier, when Windows 10 performs an automatic update. it replaces the installed Toshiba Universal 2 print driver with a Microsoft designed V4 driver.

This V4 driver both looks different but also causes all kinds of print issues like PDFs not printing properly.

I disable "Turn on automatic setup of network connected devices" found under Control Panel/ Network & Sharing/ Private/ Network Discovery
