    Those machines will always 'dot'.
I mean, when you look closely there are always dots on the image.
Even after PM, you will never get it clean!
Jamming is ok, good ADF, good F.U., speed ok, but never they reach for the 300K parts!
There is a Transfer belt unit with collection of waste toner, my lord, pain to maintain.
Also the cleaning web: or it is to late to replace (and client can not print anymore for a while) or it is to early to replace it and there is plenty of good web still on it which you need to throw away.
    Not my favorite!
Thank you for your feedback. Appreciate it

The machine came up with an sc672 after about 5 mins. I'm supposing thats the hard drive that needs replacement.

What I want to know is ,

    1) are these machines reliable ?
    2) are these machines expensive to maintain?

    Thank you
I worked on this series for several years. They are not my favorite. Very filthy running and labor intensive, especially a fuser rebuild. I'm glad that I no longer work on them.

Same. The newer MP 4054/4055 are MUCH improved. I am so glad I am rid of most of these filthy running pigs..

Thanks for your input guys. Really appreciate it.

Customer has been quoted and work will begin on Monday with the unit. I'm just awaiting spares.
