If it's a print job....then it's probably a size/type mismatch. Make sure that your tray is set to plain paper (or whatever paper type you're printing on) and correct size, and make sure your computer settings match.
Haven't heard of that problem when copying.....unless number of copies isn't selected.....or if someone is using "sample copy"...which I'm not sure if that series had that function.

Read the messages on the screen, the machine will tell you what it needs, you've just got to look to see what it's trying to tell you.
I have seen that problem with flaky door switches. Vibration from somewhere causes the machine to momentarily detect door open as the paper exits..

Question doesn't mention whether there are any indications like paper jam sign, after the first copy came. Or just take another copy by pressing start key, without open/close any cover. If so, problem with casette paper end sensor. Contact plates inside the sensor lost its contact repeatedly by oxidization.
The older models had a sample copy function, when you want to print the rest, you first need to push the x button...
als you can limit the copy quantity in the user mode (also with old models).

Exactly.. When I showed up the paper out sensor would blink between copies.
Ive seen this once, maybe twice. Paper end sensor needed replaced.
