    MP 6002 export address book

I am wanting to export the address book from a Ricoh MP 6002 to install into a MP 7503.. When backing up the address book from the MP 6002 do I use the SD slot 2? It doesn't seem to recognize the slot on the op panel. On the MP 7503 the sd card works fine on the op panel slot.

Export is always done from slot 2. Import only from op panel on newer smart panel machines. Slot 2 for all other older devices. I just did a MP 9002 to a 9003 last week.

I just use the WIM to backup the address book....less hassle.

Me too when I can especially if I have easy access to a customer computer. If not SD card is much quicker than getting out the laptop and getting prepared to log in via crossover cable. Had a customer give me access to their wifi a while back and I backed up a whole fleet remotely (25 devices), that was sweet!

While you are at it, show a responsible operator at the customer how to backup the address to their computer using WIM. Also instruct them to backup anytime there are significant changes in the address book. If you have ever had to replace a crashed HDD you will understand. On machines thgat also have a Fax option installed, there's a utility that allows you to convert the backup file to an Excel compatible .CSV file that you can then import to LanFax.

I always trained the customer on how to edit and back up the address book using WIM, as well as how to fully utilize the LanFax utility.

It’s also a good idea to set up email verification of sent faxes.
