    Automatic firmware update

Hey, All. No questions today, just the result of the auto firmware update on a c6003(all new for me) First off, as an independent, I kinda thought we would have to have @remote or something for this to work. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead. I entered service mode and clicked the "update firmware" tab, and then...the downloading firmware indication came up, and it stayed like that FOREVER (I thought it might have bricked the controller). After 30 or 40 minutes it started installing the modules, and completed with a restart. Checking the firmware versions from the logging data I seen it did indeed update firmware. Life is good, and it's cool, but onsite updates will need to be done with a SD card for much quicker results. I can see possible malfunctions occurring by setting the machine to do this on it's own resulting in a service call at the worst possible time, so I think I will leave that off. Everyone have a great day and stay safe.

I wonder how it updated if it didn't have @remote setup on it?

Maybe the original selling dealer/branch had setup @Remote. Would need to look at the values in SP 201-208 to know for sure.

Yeah, I hadn't thought that maybe it was from the previous owner. He could look at SP5816-201, if it's a 2 then it's running @remote embedded.

On the C6003 auto fw update will only work if @remote is installed, this machine will have had it installed.

On the IMC range you can set the fw to update at a date & time of your choice this works out of the box just need to set a couple of SPs.
