Lightbulb toner End" alert message does not clear in mpc2011

    hi all
    have a good day ...

I am facing a problem in one of the Ricoh mpc 2011..the problem is not reading the cyan toner and Toner End" alert message does not clear, and after we check the printer it was found that there was a break in the (toner hopper), so we replaced it , and after a number of printing, the same problem returned ..
In the second stage, another new (toner hopper) replaced with new development unit of the after a number of Copies returned the same problem.
In the third stage, we replaced a( new toner hopper was replaced with a new, third one with anew development unit with pcdu with a board chip, and now the device does not read recognize and not reading toner .. Please help me solve the problem
Note: that it has been verified that the all motors are working properly, and the firmware in update, and there is no break in any gear

    best regards

Re: toner End" alert message does not clear in mpc2011

Is it giving a toner not set message or is it just showing toner low/independent toner/no toner info?

If toner low/independent/no display message just ignore it, the data on chip is wrong because of the faulty hopper and Dev unit. Or you can replace toner now but that's a waste.

I've had my fair share of the 2011 and 2004 bugger up the toner chip and snap the auger in hopper after Dev unit seizes

Above pcdu the a black plastic assy goes from hopper to pcdu remove and clean and check hopper is OK may need to replace with new oem hopper and dev assy quite common

I have seen this issue multiple times over the years on all the METIS series. New hopper & PCDU only temporarily resolves the issue

Not yet found the cause but I think the cause could be as stated above a blocked link between the dev & hopper.

The Toner end message can have more than one cause; You will use some SP modes to identify your pb.
SP 3100 to disable temporally the message and allows you to run the machine to investigate.
SP 3102 to see what's written in the chip on the toner cartridge; if it's 0g you will have the message even if every thing is working and the cartridge is full.
SP 3210 TD sensor reading value VT, amount of toner in the development unit.
    SP 3050 Force toner supply.
First go to SP3102 bottle motor toner remains: if it's 0g you will have to change the cartridge or the chip.
Then go to SP3100 and select "NO DETECT" and click on the OK (on the same page) at the bottom of the screen; DON'T FORGET YOU WILL HAVE TO PUT IT
BACK ON " DETECT" AT THE END.If the message remains even with "NO DETECT" selected, change the cartridge.
Then go on SP3210 and note the value (for example 1.95). Then go to SP3050 and execute; After completed Go back to SP3210 if the value is about 0.1 less
than the value before ( around 1.85 in the ex.) all your system to supply the toner is working. If value is 0.03 less no toner is provided to the dev unit or devunit's not turning.
To check the RFID board (who read the chips on the cartridges) you can swap the cartridge (after had broke the plastic on the cartridge head that forbid
you to do it) The Cyan in the place of the Magenta or the Yellow; if the chip on the cartridge is defective you will have the same message.
Doesn't matter which place the cartridge is (for the test i mean) it will always be read as a Cyan or Y or Magenta cartridge.

    Good luck

    Hi

With regards to your machine chewing up toner hoppers. There is a square pipe that runs vertically between the toner hopper and the dev unit. If this becomes blocked, the machine has no way of knowing this, and the result is that the toner hopper will fail because it is pumping toner into a solid object basically. This is easy enough to fix though. Remove all pcdu unit and the itb, so that you have work space. There is one screw on either side of the pipe. Remove the pipe and check if it is blocked.

The upshot of this condition is that the machine will try to add toner (as the td sensor is reporting that it is low). As the toner is not getting to the dev unit, the machine will try a predetermined number of times and then decide that the bottle must be empty, as it was flagged near end already, as it tried to add toner. This info is then written to the bottle chip and this bottle will read empty in any subsequent machine as the info is on the chip, even though there is physically toner in the bottle.

Thanks for the info I didnt know the machine writes to the bottle chip.

Could be wrong but I can't see that the bottle chip could be written on from the copier
