Yeah some customers still goes nuts like "I don't give a shi*t" even if you demonstrate the before/after difference with a freshly brought paper sample. Especially service contract customery can become very stubborn. I tell my guys to write everything down in the paperworks because next time the customer gets a bill

First thing you do if you get a call for curling paper, grab some fuser parts in case but grab a fresh pack of unopened paper if you can! I'm lucky that I am in my office half the time so I have stacks of paper in a 'normal' temperature room. go to the call, see the problem for yourself, take their paper out, put your paper in and see if it instantly improves, if so it is paper. I have had so many customer over the years complain about this because none of them accept that paper can get damp. You show them and still sometimes they get annoyed as if you have put a curse on their paper and it is your fault somehow. One customer also takes all the paper out the packets and puts it on a metal rack next to the machine, I said don't take it out the packets it can take on a lot more moisture that way, they agreed. Called me up 2 months later saying it was doing the same thing, I go there and can see once again paper just sat on this metal rack which they denied they had continued doing despite it being right in front of my eyes.

I had a customer with an entry level machine, 20 ppm and less, in a shop office. They found that if they removed the top 10 to 15 sheets of paper from the tray then the paper would not come out curled into about 1 inch diameter tubes first thing in the morning.

I think it is moisture paper (it is autumn here at this moment).
Could a tray heater solves this problem?
Could it be a bad fuser?
Total counter 206K. and no fuser parts where yet replaced.
Did you have seen this problem before?
    Thank you for helping us.
Check All the obvious ie damp paper or fuser I have had where a machine once had a bridge unit fitted then the dealer removed without swapping back the rollers you install to the exit assy when the bridge unit was originally installed

Any chance did this machine have a bridge unit at one time? If the exit idler rollers don't have the big fat rollers the paper can roll. When you install the bridge you swap these out for flat rollers. On the sharp they use foam and it wears down causing paper to roll up and make a mess.

Have you tried lowering the fuser temp about 10-15 degrees? It's not a cure but it does help.

    Re: mpc3003 paper is bulging

Thank you all for the good tips.
I just placed the modif receiving tray, tested it, and the first reaction of customer was: "oh, solved" (in Dutch of course).

But at this moment - and the days before - it is dry here, there is no rain.
For me it will not be resolved until a few days after it has rained and customer don't complain...
So, if you don't hear me again, the Japs have made a good homework...
