    The one time I had this problem, it was that white wire was detached at one end.

    I do also, just don’t keep those older ones on my laptop usually

    Knowledge is power best to keep everything on laptop or tablet etc save on return calls most important things to carry all the time complete tool case, hoover, laptop.

    Thanks all. My older laptop is in my car in the shop where it’s getting a second catalytic converter installed in a month , stolen twice!

    They are being stolen for their platinum content. The platinum is also why they are so damned expensive to replace.

    The most common thing I have to reference onsite is error codes, which I have on my phone. I have a laptop in the car, I just don't need it most of the time. Half my time is in the office, and my PC is handy for these things.

    I keep all service information bulletins manuals firmware everything on phone & tablet sd card and pc all sync with Dropbox best to have everything to hand
