c3004 sometimes random black dots in center and offset

Offset: 3,74" or 9,5 cm interval.
A pattern (width 0,18" or 0,5 cm) of black dots (at random places) exact in the center of the printout.
This band is formed in the direction of the paper movement (not transverse).
    total counter: 429K
Only the ITB cl unit has been replaced.
I have looked in the S.M. for this 3,75" interval, can't find it.
    Can you help us?
    Thank you.

Service manual says the Drums and Fusing sleeve are the same diameter - 94.2 mm - which is 9.42 cm or about 3.71".
I would start with those first - K Drum, and Fusing sleeve.

Under 'Troubleshooting' --> 'Image quality problems' --> 'When an abnormal image is created' - a page or two down from their gives a list of all the diameters for rollers and such.

    Thanks Frohn, found it.

Today i replaced the F.U. ass'y, and the band of dots in the middel of the printout was solved.
But not the offset, that would be very likely the pcu BK, which i will replace tomorrow (stock 0).
In my experience with the old models, i would have thought that the dots would be the pcu and the offset the F.U.
But no, no, no ... these are modern times.

I have found over the years that offsetting can very frequently be the pdcu. If the developer is slightly over toned it can place more toner on the drum than the cleaning blade can remove in one pass. One thing that you can try is reducing the toner density in the developer and slightly increasing the transfer current. The attached document has the settings for older models but the specific SP numbers were changed with the Cxx03 models. Service Program (SP) Settings.pdf

Re: c3004 sometimes random black dots in center and offset

    Replaced BK pcu this morning.
Few ours ago customer called: problem with the band of black dots in the center of the page, is back (not the offset).
Developer-box is my next best guess.
I which i could upload pictures, but for some reason i don't understand, i can't!
I'm afraid i need to contact "make a which foundation" for that.
