MPC 307 bad multiple prints / copies

Im looking for advice as I have a deadline of next Monday to fix due to the Covid Furlough working times I have ( only 2 days a week, Mondays & Wednesdays) so my last opportunity to crack this case is next Monday due to me being off until next year and I'm the only copier tech in the company ( small dealer)#Dont want the customer to wait until next year for a fix

had one opportunity so far to investigate

I have a MPC 307 that is not giving perfect multiple copies or prints

please see attached , the quality is a separate issue as only happened after I fitted a new ITB & TRANSFER/SEPARATION UNIT: [ K pcu on order ]

    Capture.jpg

a single copy or print is fine - more than one sheet and the image moves
    No SC Codes

    all firmware has been updated

SP mode adj were made after ITB was fitted
    SP1-001-031
    SP2-111-004

Is this a obvious issue that I'm missing?

    Thanks in advance

My guess would be that the registration roller has not stopped before the next sheet gets to it.

Why did you so these adjustments you don't need to do this when you replace the transfer unit I would refit old parts if can still be used clean I'd sensors try 1st in user tools registration adjustment if that fails do force line adjustment incorrect order

    Hi mga

I was following the svs guide

Do the following after replacing the ITB unit.
    1. Enter the SP mode.
    2. Set SP1-001-031 (Leading Edge Registration Std. Measure: On/Off) to “1”.
    3. Execute SP2-111-004 (Forced Line Position Adj. Mode d).
    4. SP values from SP1-001-033 to 040 (Leading Edge Registration Offset Standard: 1 to 8) are updated by the
    above steps.
    4.Replacement and Adjustment
    242
    5. Reset SP1-001-031 to “0”.
    6. Exit from the SP mode.
    7. Turn the main power off and on.

    Hi slimslob

Thats my way of thinking, A timing issue.
Its not one color thats affected all are drifting . I did think the paper transfer roller felt abit stiff and maybe thats the area I should concentrate on (dont have another machine to check against)

Will have a go on Monday

    Many thanks

    Dave

    Hi Dave,
got similar issue. After replacing of ITB - when removing belt out of machine, it was stucked. When released, spring was damaged. This spring transfers the current from HVPS board to ITB transfer roller (for black drum). It has to be curled again with the right shape or get another one. But the replacement is very complicated, nearly impossible on site. If you have proper tools and skilful hands, you can kind of recreate the original loop so the spring will again touch the counterpart on the ITB. Only then the current transfers correctly and black is rich again. Needs time and tiny hands/fingers.

    AHH YES!
Bang on what has happened - I was issued a new belt that was faulty.
It seemed to go in ok but was difficult to remove, I noticed the tension mech was faulty on the belt and im sure thats what messed up the spring.
    same print out.

We have sourced another machine for the customer to keep and now I have time in the workshop to strip down and see what part is needed, difficult to see on the parts manual if its just a spring or a modual.

I have the time and good finger dexterity its just my eye sight that is letting me down now! lol

    wish me luck

    Thanks again
