    Ricoh mpc3003 ghost (repeating) image

    Hoi again,
There where a lot of issues with upgrading firmware on this model and especially with this customer.
I have posted this problem here earlier (as some of you will remember)... (I still think this is the issue).
I already swapt the F.U. with another good working one, no good.
I think that it only smears with color, but i'm not sure.
    Counter color 52K b&w 160K total 212K
    Thanks (again) for your help.

It looks like a fuser failure or wrong paper thickness settings. I would set the paper weight to 300 gr to check if the failure is still present.

    RD149067a RTB Ghost image. 18/6/2014
    SP mode adjustments...
I thought they would be done automatically when updating firmware?
    Not?
And it might be the fusing entrance guide being bent due to the constant heat (there was also a bulletin of this).

The machine can not recognize how thick the paper in the drawers is. You have to set it in "User Tools > Tray paper settings > Paper type Tray X > Paper thickness"

If the paper thickness is changed the printer properties needs to be changed accordingly.
I don't think this is a sustainable solution. But nevertheless we have put it on medium thick in expectation of a final solution... (at first site, problem has not occured).
    I have tried to change the settings in what RTB RD149067a commands for, but it is impossible;
or the machine at customer site has a wrong software or this RTB is wrong.
I need to mention that the swapped F.U. had not worked for at least 6 months.
It could have been the same with the machine at customers site...
Perhaps this problem occurs with any used (!) F.U. which has not worked for a long time.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

This gost image is not always being formed, sometimes it is ok (dixit customer).
With the "medium thick" paper setting, the problem seems to be solved.
But it will need time to be certain.
    Keep you informed.
