ok using a term from another brand .. the adjustment is what I meant and YES it is in the manual... the polygon comes with values that must be entered into the copier.

initialization i believe is the term Brother or samsux uses , they also have values that must me inputted for the new laser/polygon

it pissed me off.. here you aren't a copier tech .. but rather an IT guy. You come to us with a problem, when given advise you tell me it isn't in the manual ( i know damn well it is )

you are REPLACING an item ... there is a large chapter in the manual that pertains to just disassembly/replacing parts. Did you look in there? No

done with you 31yrs in the industry and frankly we have more problems with know it all IT guys here.

Interesting conversation. I showed up late apparently.

    =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

    So,
    1. you only have replaced once a fully new polygon mirror, and you have not made any SP adjustments after that replacement...
    2. You order all others polygons at a firm who have lots of these (good working) machines second hand
And then you suggest they would last a lifetime?
    hmmmm
