Hello All,
I have a customer Ricoh mpc5503 showing "paper mismatched" whenever a printing job is sent through bypass from the computer system. For example send A3 plain paper from computer system, machine says load A3 paper, after inserting A3 paper, SRA3 shows on the printer screen and doesn't print. I've tried uninstall print driver and install latest drive still the same. Is there a way out of this mess???
paper type, size and weight needs to be the same both on the pc document and printer tray paper set up.
If not, that is the error it will show.
Please is there a way I can make the auto detect work properly?
I'd bet the harness in the bypass tray is broken. Check the sensors via input check SP. Replacing it is not fun IIRC. You might be able to bypass the problem if you set the paper size manually or enable "auto-continue" in user tools -> printer -> system.

I have had that with Cxx03 as well as with C4502/C5502. There is a sensor with a flag actuator that is used to determine the paper length, i.e. A4 wide edge feed not covered and A3 covered. I have had the problem be a bad sensor, a bad actuator and a broken lead in the harness going to the sensor. The sensor and the actuator are not super difficult but with the harness I suggest you replace the entire manual feed table and save some headaches.
From the copy screen does the bypass show the correct size, in your case A3?

Go into IO mode SP5- to check the sensors in the bypass.
